Charity Information

Charity Shack is an exclusive site to promote the charity CYSTIC FIBROSIS HOLIDAY FUND (registered number 1088630) which has been assisting children suffering from Cystic Fibrosis for over 13 years.

The founder of the CYSTIC FIBROSIS HOLIDAY FUND, Howard Baws, was deeply touched by the extreme plight of the children suffering from this incurable disease, and has dedicated himself to easing their suffering. The charity has provided exciting outings and events to relieve the suffering, albeit temporarily, of these terminally ill children.

The highlight of the charity’s year is the evening in November at Jongleur’s Comedy Club, Camden where the Club and up to five of the UK’s leading stand-up comedians give their time free.  This annual event has raised an average of £50,000 each year, money which is used exclusively to help children suffering from Cystic Fibrosis.

With the creation and growth of Charity Shack it is anticipated that the charity will be able to expand its help both with donations to fund research and also the provision of minibuses.  These will be positioned around the country so that they are constantly available for excursions or hospital visits or in any way help look after these unfortunate children.  We will also link up with other charities and organisations dedicated to assist sufferers from Cystic Fibrosis.

You may be assured that any involvement with the CYSTIC FIBROSIS HOLIDAY FUND or any donation of memorabilia will be used to good effect and funds will not be wasted in unnecessary admin costs.  Our pledge is to ensure that the highest proportion of funds generated is used to relieve the distress of Cystic Fibrosis.

The function of Charity Shack is to sell authentic memorabilia at reasonable prices to collectors, enthusiasts and charity functions.  If you donate an item to our growing collection, we guarantee that it will be treated with respect and we will endeavour to obtain for you a fair return percentage of the price the item achieves when sold.

You will always have the option of donating your item to Charity Shack.  Alternatively, as we recognise that items have an intrinsic value, and you may have paid a good price for the item originally, it is fair that you should retain a percentage of the ultimate Charity Shack sale price.  We will always supply evidence of the best bid received when we account to you.

The “frequently asked question” is: what is my percentage?  This can vary, but on average Charity Shack will retain 30 to 50% of sale proceeds, dependent on the value of the particular item.  we will always agree the percentage with you prior to sale.
